Why RCH/UCR? ? I spent a month here during fourth year and it was awesome! The residents were friendly, attendings were great to work with, and the staff was approachable. As far as the hospital is concerned, the high volume, patient diversity, opportunities for procedures will give me the education and experience to be the best ED doc I can be. Lastly, having lived most of my life on the East Coast, I must admit southern Cali is amazing. Having LA and its many cultures and food, theme parks, beaches, mountains, snowboarding all within 1.5 hrs away is hard to beat!

Why RCH/UCR?: Besides being the #1 happiest residency program in the nation, the camaraderie and tight-knit family vibes between faculty, staff, and residents is what left a lasting impression on me. RCH/UCR family is the type of support unit I want during my residency training where I also have access to a diversity of pathologies, high volume of patients and procedures, and the ability to help the communities of the Inland Empire (and it doesn’t hurt that the hospital has a concierge service!). Plus the perks of living in sunny, Southern California with the Ontario airport close by is truly the cherry on top.

Why RCH/UCR? Beyond the likeability and general sense of confidence I gathered from the residents during my interview and second look, I found Riverside to be a place where I knew I could have a huge impact. As a fairly new program in the ED world, I knew I could come here and find ways to untap the shear potential this program has to offer the incoming resident class and beyond. I've been in NYC almost 10 years now and Riverside is bringing me back to the place I used to call home. I am originally from Los Angeles and the chance to be near family and almost perfect weather all year around was a huge draw for me. I am moving to the area with my Husband and yorkie. As one of the busiest ED's in California, I know am I going to come into work with a purpose everytime I step through the door.
