Welcome to the UCR/RCH EM Residency. Our program believes deeply that hard
work and wellness, both inside and outside the hospital, are complementary
to each other and are integral parts of our goal for thriving both during
residency and beyond. While we are a 3-year program, one of the few remaining
in the beautiful state of California, three years is still a significant
portion of your life. Moments. Whether in the resuscitation bay, pediatric
unit, or didactics center, every moment matters for your development into
an excellent EM doc and, just as importantly, your perseverance as a happy
and fulfilled human being.
As one of the busiest emergency departments in California, RCH/UCR offers
exceptional levels of exposure to diverse pathology, patients requiring
critical care, and opportunities for mastering procedures. But our EM
program provides more than a high volume, high acuity ED. Our program
offers people, it offers a resident-centric culture, and it offers opportunities.
As a relatively new program, we also offer unique opportunities to shape
your own education and find new paths that suit your specific career goals.
And speaking of opportunity, we would love the chance to meet you during
the interview season to more fully delve into the unique features inherent
to our program and of course learn all about you! Thank you for your interest
in RCH/UCR. The Chiefs, administration, faculty, and residents are fully
committed to your long term success. Please do not hesitate to reach out.
We are happy to help you achieve your goals.
