Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Riverside Community Hospital RCH/UC Riverside School of Medicine’s (UCR School of Medicine) Graduate Medical Education Program (GME). The RCH/UCR School of Medicine program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and Electronic Residency Applications Service (ERAS) application system. Interview is based on academic performance, clinical skills, letters of recommendation, scholarship activity, and personal characteristics. Below are the documentations that are required when applying for the program.

All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Applications Service (ERAS) Program. Paper applications are not accepted. Our program can be located in ERAS by entering our ACGME Institution # 1400500917 in your program search.

Application Process

Please be sure to provide the following requirements when submitting your application:

  • CV
  • Personal statement
  • A minimum of 3 letters of recommendation
  • Dean's letter
  • Transcripts
  • USMLE Transcript for Steps 1
  • Step 3 required for all applicants more than 2 years after medical school graduation

US/LCME Accredited Medical School Applicants

Consideration will be given to MD applicants from US/LCME accredited schools who meet the following criteria:

  • USMLE Step 1, STEP 2CK and STEP 2CS must be passed prior to rank list submission (mid-February).
  • Graduation from medical school within the past three years

The deadline for submission of application and all required material is December 31. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview, in which they will have the opportunity to meet with members of the faculty and tour the facilities. Earlier submissions is suggested to allow a more complete evaluation.
